I think I’m finally settling into a writing routine that works for me.
For two weeks in a row, I’ve managed to write nearly every day. I’m hitting all my targets, and I’ve been setting those targets high enough that I feel like I have something to show for my efforts. As far as time spent writing goes, I’m actually surpassing my best (non-NaNoWriMo) weeks from last year, before I got lazy. I’m even managing my time better: I’m getting all that writing done without feeling like I can’t fit anything else into my day.
I don’t quite believe it, either.
It isn’t a habit yet. It’s only been two weeks. But I think it’s sustainable—I’m feeling productive, for the first time in nearly a year, and I don’t feel like I’m sacrificing too much for that productivity.
And I’ve got the perfect idea for Script Frenzy. It’s been moved to April this year, so I’ve got just enough time to get ready. I might even try outlining.
