I don't like Mondays.

Today was one of those days—one of those days when it takes a completely unreasonable amount of effort to sit down and start writing.

Part of me wants to say, “also known as ‘Monday’,” but Friday was one of those days, too, and it took even more effort to start writing on Friday. Enough effort that I never actually got around to it.

I did get around to it today, later than I wanted but not so late that I gave up on the idea of writing entirely, and I got six pages written without any real effort at all.

I think that means that Script Frenzy is going well this year. I’m up to twenty-one pages. One-fifth of the way through. Pretty much the entire first act, everything I managed to figure out before I started writing. I’m working blind from here out, but the story seems to be going well. I’m not worried. My characters all seem to be different from one another, I like all of them, even the ones I kind of hate, and there’s promise of adventure to come. (It’s a little too obvious right now, actually—the whole story has a strong hero’s journey vibe to it. Hardly surprising, considering the book I’m reading at the moment, but it still irritates me just a little bit.)

But I’ve started. I’ve started the story, and I’ve forced myself to sit down and work on it. The hard part is out of the way.

1000 Days : Day 600

Of the past one hundred days, I’ve spent nearly eighty living out of boxes and suitcases. I spent November with limited internet access and no phone connectivity. I can’t count of the days lost to packing, and moving, and unpacking. I’m still not properly settled.

Unsettled

You’ve probably figured out by now that I’ve moved. Or, I’m in the process of moving—I’m in the new apartment, but aside from the barest necessities, I don’t actually have any of my stuff here. (It’s a long and boring story.)
